Help for Musictime

1)To begin working, we have to adjust diferent parameters:

  • Open a new file and save it with a name
  • Decide the stave format : for piano, piano and voice, single stave
  • Select the MIDI chanel and choose the MIDI Maper, bay default.
  • Go to window menu and open the track map, choose an instrument and write down its name. Select chanel A, and volume. Channels are the different instruments we want to listen to. Channel is an imaginary microphone by we can do our instrument input. If we want to listen some music with different instruments inside, we have to go tothe tracks map, and select different channels. Always in port A. If we switch to port B , for a extern clavier. Each port hass 16 MIDI channels. Drums and percussion is on channel 10.
  • Go to window and open palette. Clicking on notes options will change to allows us writing all the music sheet figures: beat, key...

2) On the toolsbar there is: an arrow (to select), a rubber ( to correct), a pencil ( to write down)

3) Double click to select a staff qith the arrow outside. If it is we will select a beat.

4) If we make a mistake, go to edit and undo

5) To erase, do it with the rubber or select+delete
6) Voices on the left side of the toolbar are used to make polifonic effect. Voice 1. Voice 2. After, all the voices are on an only instrument.

7) Ports are used to switch on them outstanding synthesizers and internal keyboards: A and B. In that case, we will use the port B if we already have a keyboard switched to the computer.
8) If we want to listen to our composition, we can activated it with the space bar

An amusing practice is to download a MIDI file from the net. Copy and paste it in a new Musictime file. and you will be able to see the written staff of that music.
