Maths with hula hoops

Aims:
To experience how to solve a mathematical problem together with friends.

Materials:
Hula hoops in the gym.

Main part:
During the P.E. class, we spread a number of hula hoops on the floor. The pupils are told to dance when the music plays. When the music stops they are told to put a number of hands, feet, noses etc. in each hula hoop. For example, if the teacher says: "When the music stops, put six hands together in each hula hoop”.
And when it stops again “put three feet in each hula hoop”.
