Goals:
To know how you can fold a rectangular piece of paper and cut off a piece to get a square. How to fold this square into a triangle.

Materials:
White squared papers
A pair of scissors
Crayons

Vocabulary:
Rectangle, square and triangle.

Planning:
Start with a rectangular piece of paper.
Show the children how you can fold down one corner over the paper and cut off the redundant part and then there is a square.
Fold the square into a triangle.


Fold down the triangles top towards you.


Fold up the lower corners away from you

Turn the paper around and draw a cats face on it.

Evaluation:
The children liked making these cats. When they managed to make a cat some of them tried to fold the corners in other ways and then they got a dog. Now they are sure of the forms of triangles, squares and rectangles and how you can make them.
