There was the second school of Vilanova. The first was Pompeu Fabra, which at that time called Grupo Escolar Jose Antonio Primo de Rivera. The rest of the city schools were nuns and priests.
The Ginesta School began his educational work during 1966 / 67. At that time the center had only one building (now located where the dining room, music room and the classroom of art) and had six units.
At this time the school received several names: Archbishop Armanyà School, school group, and finally Archbishop Armanyà cantred Taco Graduate School, going to be called Ceip Ginesta during 2001 / 02
In 1967, the Center also housed the "Night School Literacy", adult education and cultural promotion.
Over the years the school grew and the course 72 / 73 built a new building, and were extended to 3 more units of boys and 3 girls over. Until then only courses taught to 5th grade, but this new course has already reached till 7th primary.
The school became the National College cantred Taco Mixto during the course 73 / 74.
Gradually the school grew and the number of classes was necessary to build, the first of two new 1977 and later another building during the year 1978, finally got a new kindergarten begins operational during 2002 / 2003.
Currently the school offers a wide range of activities, including from 96 / 97 the house during the summer month of July.
