| The dragon is an animal of a popular legend in Catalonia. The Sant Jordi Legend. This legend tells how a dragon ate all the livestook until the foot ran out. The inhabitants were desperated. The king decided that a person would be sacrified and it would be the meal of the dragon. Unfortunately it was the turn of the princess. When the dragon arrived to eat the princess a knight appeared and killed the dragon. From the blood of the dragon a beautiful rose grew. For this reason on Saint Jordi's day boys give roses to girls and girls give them a book as a sign of their love. |
