STA. CRISTINA DE CORÇÀ

It's believed that this shrine stands on the same spot where pagan ceremonies had formerly taken place. It's erected on top of a previous shrine, which belonged to the 1st.period of Romanesque Style (some features are still visible) although the current one dates back to the 3rd.period. Uneven boulders of different sizes together with mortar were used in the building of the lower part of the apse (which has a horseshoe form) and the side walls. On the façade there's a small main entrance door fitted in a semicircular arch. Above it and right in the middle there's a very narrow splay window. On the side wall a rectangular side entrance and another splay window in the middle of the apse are to be found. The existence of such sort of splay windows reveal the survival of a former Romanesque style.
