CHART 2 | SURVEY OF ACCESSIBILITY TO PUBLIC SPACES

REFERENCE I agree: 3 points
I partially agree: 2 points
I disagree: 1 point

  1| PAVEMENTS

1 | Pavements have a free minimum width of 0.90m to allow the passage of a wheelchair.
2 | Pavements do not have any rubbish containers, trees, lamp posts or other obstacles blocking the passage.
3 | There are no isolated steps.
4 | There is a height free of obstacles of, at least, 2.10m from the floor.
5 | Street furniture and all protruding objects are not higher than 0.68m from the floor and are easily detectable by the cane of a blind person.
6 | All surfaces are hard, level and non skid.
7 | There are no gradients or they are not more than 2%.
8 | There are no trees on the pavement along this route or the space they occupy is perfectly covered and level with the pavement, so that it does not represent a risk for a person in a wheelchair or using a cane.
9 | There is a "free circle" of at least 1.50m diameter at every corner or any time there is a change of direction.

  2 | PEDESTRIAN CROSSINGS

10 | Pedestrian crossings are placed where they are needed.
11 | There are always kerb cuts at pedestrian crossings.
12 | Pedestrian crossings have a minimum width of 1.20m.

  3 | KERB CUTS

13 | The edges of the kerb cuts are slopped or rounded at 45º so that nobody can strip and fall.
14 | All kerb cuts are marked with a different texture from the pavement.
15 | The minimum width of all kerb cuts is 0.90m and their maximum slope is 12%.

  4 | STREET LIGHTS

16 | Street lights have audible signals for the blind.
17 | It is never necessary to press a button to activate the red light to cross the street, but in case there is a button, it is placed at a height of 1.00m/ 1.40m from the floor.

  5 | CAR PARKS

18 | There are adapted car parks, at least, near the most important public buildings (e.g.: Town Hall, Post Office, Market Place, etc).
19 | Car parks are correctly marked with the international symbol of accessibility and they are placed as close as possible to the main entrance of the building.
20 | If vehicles are parked one after another, the minimum dimensions of a car park are 2.00m x 4.50m. If vehicles are parked one next to the other, the minimum dimensions of a car park are 3.30m x 4.50m.
