This book is especially designed for the use of non specialist art teachers. Not suitable to use for children.
This book is intended for teachers of children aged 10 and 11 to develop their pupils creativity and imagination through increasingly sustained activities.
The sessions are planned to introduce children to a wide range of tools and techniques, to encourage language and discussion, to use, build on and extend and  previous skills as well as developing further skills in a sequential series of activities.
The areas targeted are drawing, painting, printing, collage, textiles and sculpture which are the content of the National Curriculum Art Document.
The visual elements of art i. e. language of the subject, line, tone, texture, pattern etc, are identified in relation to each session, and links are made with the work of other artist, craftworkers and designers.
In addition this book has a section for each session on sketchbook. I will focus very much in the use of sketchbook, in which children  will collect and record visual evidence and information.
