The head of the comet was burnt in during printing to show the core and jets in the comet's coma. Notice that the bright tail curved above the comet is made up of two jets.

Hale-Bopp is still visible in the Southern Hemisphere, but still only in a very narrow window between twilight and comet-set, and despite the southern winter. This image is enhanced to illustrate the tail extending faintly down to lower right.
