Listening for details
Sometimes we are interested in getting specific information from a conversation: prices, times, etc. For example, if we are in a train station we are interested in the timetable and the prices. Remember that you don't have to understand every word to communicate in English.
In this example, you have to get some information by listening to a waiter taking an order
Did you know these expressions?
- side-salad: a salad that is served with the main course
- large, medium, small: when you ask for a drink, in the US they often ask you which size you want
- I'd like: it is one of the expressions used to order food or drink
- under 18: younger than 18
- driving licence: document with permission to drive, often used in the US for identification
