TIPS FOR TEACHERS

This on-line activity based on the website Romans in Britain is a treasure hunt. Your students are asked to navigate in search of the information they need to answer some questions. There is a printable worksheet available at the bottom of this page so that your students can write down their answers and keep a record of the things they are learning.

The first part features a series of questions about Roman towns: the roads, the buildings, the layout, the traffic, etc.

Then they have to 'visit' Camulodunum, present Colchester, a Roman town in Britain, and put what they have read on the website into practice by describing what they see in the map.

Finally they have to go to Silchester, where they have another treasure hunt and they can navigate this old Roman town in Britain.
