Cells

This interactive activity is based on the Worsley School, the West Sussex Grid For Learning and the EnchantedLearning websites, which may provide you with much more useful material. Students should do it on a computer either at home or at school and then copy the result in their notebooks or a print out. All the information they need to answer the questions can be found here. This page also provides a worksheet with the exercises they have to answer.

The activity has been structured in three different stages. The first one offers a few questions about a text with general information: size, functions, parts, characteristics, etc. The second stage is a practice which includes some jigsaw games to build up six different types of cells. Once they have finished them, they are asked to draw them in their worksheets. Finally, the third stage asks students to label three different types of cells with the names of each part. There is also a game to make them test their knowledge.
